Advocacy Support Course

Our Advocacy Support course is delivered over two days covering the concept of advocacy and the different roles advocacy can play when building relationships and communicating with others in the life of your child with disabilities, impairments and special needs.

This programme is a wonderful first step in strengthening your skills to support your family member. It is offered to all family/whanau interested in learning more about how the can obtain the best for their family member. This programme is free to parents and family/whanau.

We offer a limited number of fee paying places to interested people who are not parents, family or whanau and believe in supporting Parent to Parent and the work we do.

This course will cover skills for

  • Self advocacy
  • Confidentiality
  • The dangers of making assumptions
  • Questioning Skills
  • Active listening
  • Planning and research


This Course is free for parents or family/whanau who have children with special needs.
For professionals and other interested people a fee of $320 plus GST. This includes lunches and a training course manual.
